I am a Christian because I was raised in the Methodist Church, and because I choose to be.
I am first a child of God. My highest goal in my life is to do God's will in my life. I have decided that means that I pray for this to be so, and then see what opportunities open up for me. I pray and meditate often. I am a spiritual person. I believe my spirit is my true self. It will last forever. This body will see its last days and pass away. But my spirit, no mater what, will continue. I believe heaven is not so far away. When I walk with the Lord, I have often experienced heaven. In my sleeping and awake life, I find joy and meaning and purpose. I believe hell can be this life also. Whenever an outside force, may it be a person or event that makes me forget that I am a child of God, and forget that He is always here for me to help and guide me; that is when I experience hell. I believe in God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Ghost. I was raised Methodist, but chose to follow the Unity church. This is the same church that puts out Daily Word, and Unity Magazine. This church is very positive, and practical in it's teaching on how to understand God (the best we can), and how to live His will for us. Unity teaches what it means to be in The Presence. Unity teaches eclectic values, of which I am a subscriber. I have studied Hinduism (Self-Realization) and Spiritualism, and came to the conclusion for myself, that these are not the way for me for certain reasons. Unity can and does set Jesus as the Son of God, and the Savior and the Way Shower. It also shows the validity of other great religions as well. Another choice I have chosen for a Christian church is Pentecostal. They believe, as I do, that God is alive and here with us now. They believe that we can have a personal relationship with God, every day. That God is communicating with us all the time.
